Oklahoma State University, Marketing
Rob Krier, a Muskogee native, views his 48-year career at Griffin Media as a passion, not a job. He began his career at Griffin Media as a sales account executive and has worked as a national sales manager, director of sales, general manager, vice president and chief operating officer before becoming president.
In his nearly five decades of service to the company, Rob has had an incredible impact on the organization and has helped build the long-term value of News 9 and the company.
His passion, boundless and infectious energy, dedication to storytelling through news and transformational leadership skills have played a leading role in positioning Griffin Media as the state’s premier media company. Additionally, his genial personality, love of laughter and generous heart have helped to cultivate a workplace environment that thrives off excitement, empowerment and innovation.
On October 1, 2023, Rob retired as President of Griffin Media and transitioned to President Emeritus. In this advisory position Rob promotes cultural stability and continuity.
Rob is passionate about giving back to the community. He has served as a board member for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and regularly volunteered for the local food bank.
In his free time, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson. He loves attending concerts and sporting events and traveling to new places.
Rob says his greatest achievement is staying (mostly) sane after 48 years in the industry.
